Oculus came to us with a website that was old, slow and bloated. It was built on WordPress with a large blog and a huge amount of content. They tasked us with a website re-design that had an emphasis on speed and information delivery.

Increase page speed

Their previous website was so slow Google often didn't return results on the page speed tests. Pages took up to 20 seconds to load which was a punishing experience when visiting the blog or trying to find specific technical information.

Optimize for SEO

We utilized Webflow's SEO optimization to help  Oculus rank higher. Their previous website lacked proper best practices so helping to re-build their strategy from the bottom up was crucial.

Update the branding and deliver a slick new design

Their unique brand uses a pop of neon pink on a black background to differentiate themselves from other engineering companies. A brand this loud needs to be handled with care to not appear overstimulating. It was time for a dash of sophistication with their new design.

Brand refresh

We aimed to reinvent their design with an emphasis on neon pink for its boldness - Oculus is a bold company. They wanted a dark, sophisticated website with pops of colour, so we developed a new contrast scheme using bold, legible fonts.

Bringing it togethor

While a larger agency might have taken several months on this project, we completed it in just a few weeks. Thanks to Webflow, we delivered a blazing fast, beautiful website that excels in speed, best practices, SEO, and accessibility.

We imported 65+ blog posts from their old WordPress website and built several CMS collections allowing the Oculus team to update the website on their own.

Final results

A significant boost in page speed, optimization and SEO.

The original website's performance was lacking but with our help we brought the overall page speed to at least 90 on all pages, and achieved perfect scores of 100 for optimization and SEO in Chrome Lighthouse.

A simple to update CMS experience

Replacing WordPress was a no-brainer. The new easy-to-use CMS sections give the client the ability to effortlessly update their projects, blog posts, and team members, empowering them to take control of their website.

A clean new design

Clean, clear text. Large images showing their amazing work. Technical information presented as legibly as possible. We set out to captivate user attention without friction and delivered a website that showcases Oculus's services and award winning projects.

Client testimonial

"Matt and Missy delivered an exceptional result for our website with very little hand holding. We trusted them through the process and they made it very easy from start to finish. Couldn't be happier with the process."
